Carlsbad RV parking has a separate overnight permit path
Carlsbad treats recreational and oversized vehicles differently from regular street parking. The city restricts overnight parking for RVs and oversized vehicles on city streets between 2 a.m. and 5 a.m., with permit options for residents and guests.
That is useful near the beach, in the Village, around neighborhoods with narrow streets, and anywhere a visiting RV might seem easy to leave overnight. A regular parking space is not always enough if the vehicle is oversized.
Carlsbad residents who own an RV can apply for a yearly residential permit, and residents can also apply for temporary guest permits. The vehicle must stay close to the residence tied to the permit.
Before applying, check the vehicle size, the address, and whether the request is for a resident, guest, or hotel or motel guest. Parking tickets, abandoned vehicle reports, and immediate parking concerns use separate contacts.
