Visalia transit has fixed routes, Connect, and Dial-A-Ride
Visalia Transit works best when riders sort the trip by service type: fixed routes, on-demand Visalia Connect, or Dial-A-Ride.
Visalia Transit is easier to use once you pick the shape of the trip. The fixed-route system has 13 routes, with stops tied to places like the Visalia Transit Center, Mooney Boulevard, medical offices, Government Plaza, Goshen, Farmersville, Exeter, and Tulare Transit Center.
Visalia Connect is different. It is on-demand microtransit for shorter local trips inside its service zone. Riders use the app to book a ride, pay through the app, and travel seven days a week during the same hours as fixed-route service. The listed fare is $5 per trip per person.
Dial-A-Ride is the curb-to-curb option. It is designed for riders with disabilities who cannot use fixed routes, and same-day rides can also be available to the general public when space allows. Reservations use the Dial-A-Ride phone number.
For a doctor visit, school trip, job commute, or ride across town, the useful sort is simple: fixed route if the map fits, Connect if the zone fits, Dial-A-Ride if curb-to-curb service is the better match.
