Redondo Beach parking permits depend on the exact curb
In Redondo Beach, a parking permit is really a block-by-block question. Living in the city is not the whole test. For preferential parking, the vehicle registration must show a Redondo Beach address inside the permit zone, and the application also asks for proof of residency.
That detail is easy to miss near the beach, the Riviera, apartment streets, and busy visitor areas. Two homes can be close to each other and still have different parking rules if one is inside a preferential zone and the other is not.
The city sells coastal and non-coastal preferential permits at different rates. The application starts online, even if someone later pays by check or money order at the parking window. A current gas, electric, or water bill, a new lease, or a current property tax document may be needed as proof, depending on the situation.
Before applying, check the vehicle registration address, the street zone, and the permit year. If you just moved, update the paperwork first. It saves a lot of back-and-forth when the address on the car and the address on the permit request match.
