Pittsburg building and zoning questions should be sorted early
Pittsburg project questions can go in a few directions. Building permits, engineering permits, zoning information, city standards, business license forms, and water or sewer service all sit in different local lanes.
For a home project, the first question is usually what is changing: structure, electrical, plumbing, mechanical, roof, solar, driveway, sidewalk, drainage, or a room layout. For a business space, add the use of the building and whether the tenant is changing.
The Building Division can help with building permit and inspection questions. Engineering or zoning may come in when the work touches the public right-of-way, site layout, parking, drainage, or land use.
Before contacting the city, gather the address, project description, photos, rough dimensions, contractor contact, and any prior permits. If a business is involved, add the business activity and license status.
