Fairfield FAST mixes fixed routes with FAST Connect

Fairfield's FAST system combines fixed local bus routes, on-demand FAST Connect zones, real-time arrivals, and trip-planning tools.

FairfieldFASTtransit

Fairfield’s FAST system has both fixed local buses and FAST Connect on-demand microtransit. The fixed-route side includes local routes such as 1, 3, 6, 7, and 8T. FAST Connect works by zone, including Northeast Fairfield and Cordelia/Green Valley.

The hours are part of the planning. FAST fixed local buses and FAST Connect operate Monday through Friday from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m. and Saturday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. FAST does not operate on Sunday. The system also has real-time arrivals, route planning, a system map, and contactless fare tools.

This matters in Fairfield because a trip might be a bus ride to a regular stop, a microtransit ride inside a zone, a connection to the Fairfield Transportation Center, or a link toward Travis Air Force Base or Vacaville.

The calm way to plan it is to find the address first, then decide whether it sits on a fixed route or inside a FAST Connect zone.
