Cathedral City uses CSS for licenses and permits

Cathedral City's CSS portal can handle applications, license renewals, plan uploads, invoices, permits, licenses, and inspection scheduling in one online account.

Cathedral Citybusiness licenseCSS portal

Cathedral City uses an online system called CSS for a lot of license and permit work. That is good to know before you make a special trip to City Hall or start emailing documents around.

With CSS, users can submit applications, renew licenses, upload plans for digital review, pay invoices, receive permits or licenses, and schedule inspections. The same city services menu also gathers business licenses, building permits, garage sale permits, parking citations, short-term vacation rental permits, trash service, code violations, public records, and other everyday tasks.

For a business, the practical question is usually “What kind of city review fits this business and this location?” A storefront, home business, contractor, food use, lodging use, sign, tenant improvement, or permit-heavy project may need more than one step.

Before opening the portal, gather the business name, address, owner contact, business activity, and any project or plan documents. If the work involves construction or inspections, keep the contractor and permit details handy too. The portal is useful, but the first choice you make in it should match the real task. If you are unsure whether the job is a license, permit, planning, or inspection issue, sort that out before uploading the wrong packet.
