Yorba Linda business and building questions use two lanes
Yorba Linda business licenses cover local, home, contractor, and in-city work, while building permits, inspections, and plan review run through the Building Division and Accela portal.
Yorba Linda has two city lanes that often touch but are not the same. The business-license lane covers businesses in the city, people working from home, licensed contractors, and other work done in Yorba Linda.
The building lane is for the structure itself. The Building Division handles plan review, permit issuance, and inspections. Its page also points customers to Accela Citizen Access for inspection requests and results, and to appointment-based help for over-the-counter plan checks and larger submittals.
That helps in Yorba Linda because many business questions are not big shopping-center questions. A home office, contractor work, a small tenant change, a sign, a remodel, or a service business can still need the right city path.
Start with the address, business activity, whether the work is home-based or commercial, and whether anything physical will change at the property. Then use the business-license page for the activity and the Building page for the space. Extra permit categories can come up for activities like vending, massage, signs, banners, amusement games, or contractor work, so check that list before assuming the basic license covers everything.
