Baylands Park gives Sunnyvale a wetland-and-picnic edge

SunnyvaleBaylands ParkSan Francisco Bay Trail

Sunnyvale’s Baylands Park is useful because it does two jobs at once. It has more than 70 acres of developed parkland for active recreation, pathways, and picnic areas, plus 105 acres of protected seasonal wetlands.

That balance gives the park a gentle range. You can reserve picnic space, walk or bike, look for birds and wetland plants, or connect to the San Francisco Bay Trail.

It also shows Sunnyvale’s place on the map. The city is known for tech and neighborhoods, but Baylands Park shows the bay edge, where open sky and marsh habitat are still part of local life.

Check the current gate hours and parking fee season before going. From November through February there are no parking fees, while March through October has a single-car entry fee.
