San Gabriel bulky items go through Athens

San Gabriel uses Athens Services for bulky-item pickup, while illegally dumped items should be reported to Public Works.

San Gabrielbulky pickupAthens Services

San Gabriel uses Athens Services for solid waste, organics, street sweeping, and bulky-item pickup. For a large household item, the practical move is to schedule with Athens instead of leaving it out and hoping the regular truck takes it.

Bulky pickup covers things like major appliances and furniture, and requests can be made online or by calling Athens. That is helpful in San Gabriel because many homes, apartments, alleys, and small commercial blocks sit close to sidewalks, driveways, and street sweeping routes.

There is a separate lane for illegally dumped items. If the item was dumped and is not your scheduled pickup, San Gabriel routes that to Public Works for pickup. That keeps a normal household request from being mixed with a public cleanup issue.

Have the service address, item list, property type, and preferred pickup timing ready. If the item is electronic waste, hazardous waste, or a temporary bin in the public right-of-way, check the related solid waste pages first because those can have extra rules.
