Pleasanton's west edge opens into ridge trails

Pleasanton connects city parks and local open space with Pleasanton Ridge, Augustin Bernal Park, and a larger East Bay trail landscape.

Pleasanton is easy to picture as a commute city, but its west edge tells a wider outdoor story. The city has local parks and trails, and it also opens toward East Bay ridge country.

Pleasanton lists more than 46 parks, over 60 miles of trails, and hundreds of acres of open space. Augustin Bernal Park is a 237-acre city park with trails, picnic tables, open space, and a restroom. Beyond that, Pleasanton Ridge Regional Park adds a larger trail network. New Tyler Ranch access adds thousands of acres and more trail miles.

The result is a place where a short local walk and a bigger ridge outing can start close together. Check city rules for city parks and East Bay Regional Park District rules for regional land. Passes, closures, and weather can be different from one side to the other.
