Oceanside Pier keeps the city pointed at the water

Oceanside Pier is a free waterfront walk for fishing, views, and beach time, with most of the pier open while the far west end is rebuilt.

Oceanside’s pier quickly explains the city. You can walk out over the water, look back at the coast, fish, or pair the pier with a beach stop.

The pier is one of the city’s most popular places, and a walk on it is free. Bring a jacket if you are going far out, because the air can feel breezy over the water. There is also parking nearby and a standing binocular viewer for looking along the coast.

After the April 2024 fire, the far west end has been closed for rebuilding, but most of the pier remains open. The posted hours are 4 a.m. to 10 p.m.

Ahead of time, check the current pier page. Repairs, beach rules, and events near the Junior Seau Beach Amphitheater can change how the trip feels that day.
