Lathrop garbage service is billed apart from city utilities

Lathrop uses Republic Services for residential garbage, with separate garbage billing from city utility billing, a three-cart system, and scheduled bulk item pickups.

Lathropgarbage serviceRepublic Services

Lathrop has an easy detail to miss when you are setting up a home: garbage service and city utilities are billed separately. Republic Services handles residential garbage service and garbage billing, while city utility bills and payments are handled by Lathrop.

That split matters when a bill looks missing, a cart is damaged, or a new resident is trying to get everything turned on. For garbage service, service changes, billing questions, missed carts, damaged carts, extra pickup, or start and stop questions, Republic Services is the contact to use.

Lathrop uses a three-cart system for garbage, recycling, and green waste. The brown cart is for household garbage, the blue cart is for recycling, and the green cart is for yard waste and some food scraps. Carts should be out by 5:00 a.m. on collection day, with space around them so the truck can reach them.

Bulk pickup is not a casual curb pile. Lathrop households get two bulk item pickups per year at no extra charge, but pickup is by appointment during the listed pickup season. Furniture, e-waste, appliances, small boxed items, and limited tires may fit; hazardous waste, concrete, dirt, loose piles, and oversized piles do not. Call before you haul things to the curb, and keep the pile within the listed size limit so the truck can take it.
