Lakewood building permits use OpenGov and a contract-services layer

Lakewood Building and Safety uses OpenGov for permit applications, plan review, comments, payments, status tracking, and resubmittals.

For permitted work on a Lakewood property, begin with the city, but expect one extra layer. Building and Safety services come through TRB+ Associates, and the online permit work runs through OpenGov.

That is not a problem, but it is worth knowing before you bounce between pages. OpenGov is where applicants can send plans, pay plan-review fees, receive comments, track review status, send revised plans, and apply for permits. The city Building page keeps local contacts and process notes nearby.

There is also an access detail worth saving. OpenGov is a third-party system and may not be fully accessible. Residents can contact Community Development for disability-related help with the portal or permit process.

For a home project, remodel, or plan check, keep the address, project description, and plan files together. That helps the city, OpenGov, and the contract team stay connected. It also keeps you from explaining the project from scratch each time.
