Indio business licenses use the city service portal
Indio requires a business license for people or companies transacting business in the city, and Citizen Self Service handles business license and permit work.
Indio’s business license rule is broad: a business license is required for people, companies, organizations, partnerships, or corporations transacting business within the city. That can include businesses without a storefront sign.
The city’s Citizen Self Service system is the online lane for business licenses and several permit tasks. That is useful when a business question overlaps with planning, building, inspections, short-term rental rules, water service, or event-related work.
For a new business, write down the physical address, business activity, owner or company name, contact information, and whether the work is home-based, mobile, temporary, event-based, short-term rental, or in a commercial space.
Indio has neighborhoods, festival activity, hospitality, older commercial areas, newer growth, and desert conditions all in one city. The license question works best when the city can see both pieces clearly: what the business does and where it will operate.
