Fountain Valley's report page sorts common city problems
Fountain Valley’s report page is a useful sorting page because it separates common issues into the right lanes. Code complaints, graffiti, streetlight outages, traffic signal problems, water pollution, water waste, barking dogs, police complaints, and crime reports do not all go to the same place.
That helps in a city with wide streets, schools, parks, flood-control channels, and many quiet residential blocks. A water issue, traffic signal problem, or barking dog complaint may need a different department or outside agency.
Before choosing a form, be clear about what happened and where. For a streetlight, note the pole area or closest address. For a traffic signal, name the intersection and direction if you can. For water waste or pollution, describe what you saw and when.
Use the police or emergency route when the problem is about immediate safety. The report page works best for routine issues that can be reviewed during normal city handling.
