Chino Hills has a suburban side, a state-park side, and a horse side. McCoy Equestrian and Recreation Center makes that horse side easy to see without needing to know every local trail or stable.

The center keeps several pieces together. The McCoy Residence once served as the home of Frank and Helen McCoy. The McCoy Barn once housed the family’s Arabian horses. Today those buildings work as community event spaces, while the arenas keep the equestrian use active.

The arena setup is larger than a casual ring. The center has three arenas, including lighted main and warm-up arenas with shaded bleacher seating, a public address system, an announcer stand, wash racks, trailer parking, portable stall space, and access to the trail system. Events can include dressage, Western, hunter-jumper, search-and-rescue training, dog agility, miniature horse driving, and even non-animal gatherings.

Those layers give Chino Hills a local texture that is easy to lose in a quick drive past newer neighborhoods. McCoy is a place where old ranch and horse culture has been folded into current civic life. It is not frozen in time. It still hosts people, animals, events, and everyday community use.
