Jury summons questions go through the local court
California jury service is handled through local courts, so the summons, court website, and jury portal matter ahead of a broad web search.
A jury summons is local. The statewide court pages explain the basic idea, but the real instructions usually live with the county court named on the paper.
Read the summons for the group number, date, reporting method, courthouse, and portal address. Many courts let people check status online or by phone the evening before service. That small check matters, because a group can be called, delayed, or released.
Do not guess from another county’s page. If you moved, lost the paper, need an accommodation, or have a hardship question, use the court listed on the summons or the California Courts court finder. Keep the summons until the court says the service is finished.
