Almanac note · Rules and licenses
Child care searches can start with the license record
The state child care facility search helps families find licensed child care records, facility details, and complaint or inspection information when available.
Child care is personal, but the license record is still a good first check. It can help confirm that a facility is in the state system and show basic record details in one place.
The Community Care Licensing search lets families look up licensed child care facilities. Names can be spelled a little differently, so try the facility name, city, ZIP code, or license number if you have it.
Use the record as one piece of the visit. Then ask about daily schedule, pickup rules, illness policies, outdoor play, staffing, and communication. A calm search before the tour makes it easier to ask clear questions in person.
