Apple Valley permit and license chores should be sorted early

Apple Valley has separate paths for business licenses and project permits, and some businesses may need planning, county, state, or inspection steps before opening.

Apple Valleybusiness licensepermits

At an Apple Valley address, a business idea and a building project can look like one errand, but they may move through different desks. A business license is about the activity you want to run. A permit is about the work being done to a building, site, event setup, or system like electrical or plumbing.

For a business, Apple Valley wants the license in place before the work begins. The town also points business owners toward the checks that may apply first, such as a Certificate of Occupancy, planning review, a seller’s permit, a county health permit, or proof of a contractor license. A home office, mobile vendor, weekend event, contractor, or commercial tenant can each have a different path.

For a project, the Permit Center handles building, electrical, plumbing, mechanical, film, special event, and other permit types. It also handles plans, fee questions, inspections, and safety review.

The clean move is to split the question before you call or apply. What activity will happen at the address? What physical work will happen there? Bring the address, business name if you have one, and a short project description.
